But, we all know what it is like when you want something immediately and now, or not to order you to download. In order not to begin to tear your artificial nails yourself, here are some suggestions on how to do it in a painless way at home:

Methods you can use to remove acrylic nails:

Method: Remove acrylic nails by Soaking them in acetone nail remover.

Things you will need:

  • Acetone nail remover solution.
  • Working space e.g table => Read my review of the 5 best manicure tables
  • newspapers to absorb any spillage of acetone to avoid damaging the table
  • Petroleum jelly
  • Nail polish remover, which contains acetone
  • skin moisturizer
  • Nail clipper
  • Nail file => Read my Review for 9 best electric nail file machine
  • 2 Bowls ( Small glass bowl and a larger one)
  • cotton-tipped wooden applicator
  • Warm water
Steps:
  • Use a nail clipper to cut/trim away as much of the acrylic nails as you can, without trimming the natural nails.
  • Use an electric nail file to file away much of the acrylic as you can.
  • Cover the table with newspapers
  • Pour the acetone in a glass bowl (do not use plastic as it would be damaged by acetone and you will have spillage and damage of the table). For quick action, you can warm the acetone. To do this, pour warm water in a larger bowl and place the bowl with acetone into that it.
Warning:

Acetone is highly flammable so do not microwave it or handle it near any heat source. Acetone also has strong fumes, so work in a well ventilated room.

  • Smear a coating of petroleum jelly to the skin that surrounds the acrylic. The jelly helps to prevent your skin from getting dry when you soak in the nail polish remover. However, do not apply the petroleum jelly on the acrylic nails. If you do this, the jelly will act as a waxy surface that  blocks the action of acetone. You can use an applicator such as the cotton-tipped wooden applicator if you need to apply the jelly precisely.
  • Soak the nails in the bowl which contains acetone. The soaking should last for 20-30 minutes. What is happening during the soaking is that acetone will dissolve away the glue that is holding the acrylic nails. That is how to remove acrylic nails. After the soaking, the fake nails will remove off by them selves, or by simply prying them off with an orange wood stick.  If they do not come off easily (you feel pain), it means the soaking time was not sufficient, thus you need to soak for a few more minutes and attempt to remove them again.

For some people, acetone irritates their skin at this can be a painful experience. However, you can reduce or eliminate the irritation by not directly soaking your fingers into the acetone.

How to do this:

To do this, you will need to add cotton balls and aluminum foil to the above list of requirements.

  • Place the cotton balls into warmed acetone and let them saturate with  the acetone.Next, place cotton ball per nail on the tips of your fingers and Wrap them tightly against the acrylic nails using strips of aluminum foil.Leave them on the fingers for thirty (30) minutes to allow the acetone to soak through the nails and dissolve the glue.Remove the foil and cotton balls from your fingertips. The nails and cotton balls should come off easily, if they do not, you can repeat the process.
  • Scrape off any left over acrylic with a nail buffer. At this stage, the acrylics are weakened by the soak so they can easily be scrapped off. If the acrylic hardens during the scraping, you can soak them again in acetone (using cotton ball).
  • Shape your natural nails using nail clipper and nail file.
  • Once everything above is done, apply moisturizer on your hands to restore your skin back to shape.

That is it. now you should have your natural nails back. You may wait for a few days before you apply another set of acrylic of fake nails.
