Your Twitter search history is part of your Twitter data, this is what Twitter uses to populate your interests. It is also used to influence the kind of ads you see in your feed.

When you first sign up to twitter, you are prompted to follow a few accounts and search for interesting people you would like to follow. When you do this, Twitter starts to build a profile about you.
How To Clear Your Twitter Search History
There are two main ways of clearing your Twitter search history:
- Clearing the history on the search page.
- Clearing your history through your Twitter data.
Clearing Your Twitter History from the search page
This first option is the relatively unobtrusive way to clear your history and start afresh. Access Twitter login and enter your username and password to sign in.
The best way to clear your history is by accessing the app on your smartphone, tablet or computer, click on the search bar and when you see your recent searches click on the x next to recent.
This will create a prompt for you to confirm if you want to clear your history. Click on clear and your history is gone!
Clearing Your Twitter History from Twitter Data
The second way to clear your search history is by going through your Twitter data. This method is not recommended by us because it will clear the information that Twitter holds about you. It is an indirect way to clear you Twitter and start a new one.
When you clear this information, you may lose some of the personalized experiences you had on Twitter, like related ads, hashtags and recommended accounts.
You can access your Twitter data from the settings page. Scroll down to find Twitter data, as seen in the snapshot below.
Clearing your Twitter search history in 2018 is an effective, hassle-free way to start fresh on Twitter. It may help you remove restrictions on your account and can be done by simply accessing the search page and clearing the history straight from the app.
You can also request an archive of all the information Twitter holds about you from the Twitter data settings screen.
Clear Recent Search History in Messenger App
Most of the people keep seeing Facebook Messenger search history because they keep signed in in their Facebook account and Messenger. As soon as you sign out of the Facebook and kill the session for messenger, Facebook messenger search history is deleted automatically.
Here is how to do it
Log in Facebook and go to Account Settings. Go to Security and go to Active sessions. Make sure to tap the cross button on your active sessions. This will log you out of the Messenger app, thereby deleting all search history.
After doing this, go to Facebook Messenger app and you will see a notification that the session has been logged out.
Now login Facebook account again and go to Facebook Messenger and you will see that there is no search history to be seen.
Another easy way to clear search history on Facebook Messenger app is to delete both the Facebook app and Messenger app. Install the apps again and login your account as previous sessions will end.
